Recallers 2020 Video Contest Round One
Have you ever had a time in your life when you did not think something was possible for you and your dog? That your dog just was not capable of learning what it was you really wanted, or that you were not the trainer for your dog? What you need to know is that you are not alone.
We all start with a new puppy or dog with dreams of what life will be like, but then those dreams might not match reality. We might start to doubt ourself, or our dog, and we give up on our dreams. Believing in the possibilities for you and your dog as a team is going to lead to success. All you need are solutions that work for you!
For a decade now, we have been running a mid-year video contest to honour all of our Recallers members. Recallers, and their dogs, live all around the world, have all different lifestyles, and all different challenges. The one thing that everyone has in common is that they made the choice to believe in what could be possible, and set about making their dreams a reality.
You would think after a decade, we could really describe everything that Recallers is, just how many possibilities become realities, and why we have students who have been with us for all of these years. But sometimes, there are things that you can not put into words. Recallers is more than a dog training program, it changes lives. The short video stories from our Recallers cover a lot more than a few sentences can!
Today is the first round of our Recallers video contest for 2020, where we celebrate not only our Recallers but dogs around the world and everyone who loves them. We will soon be opening registration for Recallers, and there is no better way to to start than by letting our Recallers show you the solutions they found and how life has changed.

If you are inspired by the possibilities for you and your dog, we have a free Dog Training Masterclass coming up, starting on July 07! Everyone is welcome, so save the date and if you are registered on our wait list for Recallers, we’ll let you know when we start (the form is here on this post and it’s easy to register).
Today I am grateful to be able to share our Recallers stories with you, they represent dog lovers and dogs the world over and how many possibilities there can be.
I’ve also got a second gratitude, and that is for my amazing team who made the possibility of a podcast a reality. You can click here to check out my podcast “Shaped by Dog” or follow the menu link here at the top of my blog.
How difficult to choose, such wonderful stories inspire me not to give up ! Kevin’s story was similar to our vivacious pup’s energy level. Oh have been going crazy with her, but slowly, surely we’re gettin’ there thanks to Susan’s positive games. We had tried everything from vibrating shock collars to no-bark devices. ( Now we just have to say ‘treat’ lol. )
Our lives are busy, but every game we take time for with this pup ( one year tomorrow) draws us closer, makes Sadie pup more attentive. I’m committing to have a story by next year !
I picked Jack cuz he’s old and he learned new tricks. I had a dog who was still learning new stuff at 14. Old school duck training was possibly bordering on cruel…and hopefully not the downright cruel kind. SO happy that Jack knows real learning is loving and fun.
I love all of these for different reasons! Great job everyone
Oh dear. We really have to choose???????
Very hard to choose 2! Great job by everyone. 🙂
Very hard to pick but Celine is just like my girl Lucy. Thanks everyone, great job.
Feline was a quality video but showed what could be done and Kevin reminds me more of problems I’ve had with my dog
Kevin’s dog so reminds me of my Pixie. Thanks to Recallers we have So much fun together playing games. I don’t feel like we are working or training… just having a good time!!
They are all brilliant – a very difficult decision…
Well done everyone
Another year, another difficult choice! Recallers is so good for a new owner, especially with a puppy (how big did tht pup grow in 2 months!); but then again, playing with an old dog, so rewarding; on the other hand taking your dog everywhere with you, it’s comforting to know they will always behave; and wow, that young girl recognizing her GSD needed some help and then following thru with the training; and then there’s Finn and Kevin, working thru the challenges of such high driving instincts with such gentleness and patience! How does one choose? Decisions…decisions…
Oh this was really difficult to choose. Loved the naughty dogs, the old dogs, the new frightened dogs….they have all won really by being part of wonderful families who love them
Old dogs rock! I rescued a sled dog at age 8 with a long rap sheet at animal control for running off. Recallers taught him to come, not escape, have fun with us. He did great at Rally, where he had a fan club till age made it hard to jump. He was with us till he was 16. He loved games the whole time.
Great way to get the word out about Recallers!! Loved all the videos and you sure could tell, Recallers is a great asset for the young and old alike. The owners were even sharing their love and excitement, knowing their journey was a great success!! Placed my vote for my favorite but just know, you are ALL winners.
Finn’s before-and-after is just too good! I can just hear the dog training forum humbugs saying “That’s just how Brittanys are, better get used to it”. Prove ’em all wrong, Finn!
I really liked all the videos it was a tough choice. But Carol’s and Celine’s stood out for me. I especially like the fact that Carol proved yet again you can teach an old Dog new tricks.
