I thought I would share this little video clip of Encore showing off how far she has come. I just put this clip together for “Team Encore” the amazing group of health professionals that have been helping Encore since she first starting seizing last week. Team Encore includes; Dr. Kelly Ciggaar, Dr. Alix Soltan, Dr. Leslie Woodcock, Dr. Andrea Finnen, Dr. Porter and several other key supporters (like Lynda Orton-Hill, Tammy Frank and Louise Lamer). I really did not intend on showing the world this video (as evident with me being in my PJs and not having combed my hair yet:)) . . . but we have had so many now that are a part of global “Team Encore” I thought I would share it with everyone.
Just five days ago Encore was admitted to the neurology department of the Oakville-Mississauga Emergency Clinic and labeled “unresponsive.” Today Encore continues to impress us all the rather large strides she is taking on her road to recovery. We still have much to conquer but are thrilled with what we have already accomplished.
Thank you to everyone for all of your support and healing prayers. Have an amazing holiday everyone, I know my Christmas wish has come true!
Today I am so very grateful for all of the members of “Team Encore” who saved her life and for each and every healing prayer that has been sent Encore’s way by this amazing supportive community.
Thank you for sharing!!! We’re all pulling for you guys and it is wonderful to see the progress!!!
Thank you for sharing, this just made my day 🙂
Happy tears here too! Thank you for sharing the joy in her progress so far :D. Merry Christmas to you and the big team who’s gotten her so far already!
It`s simply amazing how well she is doing!!
Don’t need no stinkin’ ramp!!
Truly amazing and inspiring. Thanks for sharing 🙂
What I like the most about this video is all the love you can feel in it 🙂
Thank you sharing this heartwarming video with us. Encore wants to please you and is a tough cookie fighting her way back up. What a blessing she is. Lots of prayers are still coming your way! Thank goodness she had a good caregiver with her while you were in Florida and thank goodness you made the drive home as soon as you did.
That’s what I call dogged determination to get well! So happy to see Encore’s progress. A true blessing.
Missy probably is so thankful that she has you and John as her owners to help her through this recovery. And for you to always take the time to share your life with your dogs with the rest of the world, “Thank you, Susan Garrett. ” As Encore is learning and re-learning from you, for all of us, there is always a lesson learned watching you in your element.
Missy En is doing so wonderful!!! What a tough little girl, and she is lucky to have you all as her amazing team!
Susan and Team Encore,
Wow that was amazing! What a difference a couple of days makes and how quickly things come back!
Best wishes as you progress!
What a good girlie! “Ramps are for sissies” Encore
What an amazing dog, part of an amazing team. She is doing so well and it is in great part because of all that you did together before this happened. This video is so heartwarming! Thank you for sharing and thank God for dogs like Missy En and People like you!
She looks great, Susan, and has come so far in such a short time! Love all the exercises you are doing with her. It’s so good to see her on her feet moving around so well.
It made my day watching this, I am so happy she is doing so well.
That little Missy is a superstar at everything she does. Sensational progress!
Oh my gosh – seeing her walk in the kitchen almost made me cry! And I’m peeking at this work so that would have been really embarrassing! I am so happy that she is doing so much better. Thank you for sharing this video. Merry Christmas to you and your girlie.
Encore is coming back . I am very happy for you. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
What progress! What an amazing girl, not to mention all her care givers, especially you Susan!
AWESOMENESS!!!
SMILES & HUGS !!!
Oh Susan that video has made my Christmas. So very happy for you all. Encore is such a star, and doing so well so soon is just a brilliant sign for her future. Continued love and good wishes from the UK xx
So very happy to see the progess being made!
On a side note…
To me, watching this video reinforces the importance of the foundation games. I sat here wondering how much more difficult rehabilitation would be without having this stuff on cue and the dog’s desire to work! (Sit, stand, heel, touch, body awareness exercises, etc….)
Nice progress. ANd hey..we’re not looking at your PJs we’re looking at Encore 🙂 Keep up the good work!!
Thank you so much for sharing. We thought of you all this time.
Petra, Eric and dogs
She looks great! Yay! Merry Christmas Susan! It’s so weird that this is exactly what my dog Charlie’s back end looks like right now. It’s been coming and going, first front leg now back leg, and I do think it is getting better, just very slowly, or maybe it becoming our new normal, I’m not sure. We did do a course of steroids and that did help somewhat, but not that much. I won’t put him through diagnostics because they told me the tests would only say if he is a candidate for surgery or not, and he’s not, I am already quite sure I wouldn’t put him through spinal fusion, and I am sure anyway it’s not a slipped disc or something like that. I don’t know what it is, but it doesn’t seem to be painful so that’s good. I’ll be following and I might steal my husband’s toothbrush too!
Susan so exciting to see how she has improved and how quickly… I am glad I am not the only one to find playing with my dogs in the morning more important than dressing or brushing my hair.. Encore definitely has her tail under control it was wagging constantly.. As a dental hygienist it was interesting to see and alternate use for and electric toothbrush. Enjoy the days to come watching your girly improve..
Thank you for sharing this Susan! Seeing Encore’s progress has renewed hopes that anything is possible; no hurdle too tall. where there is love there is hope. Praying for Missy Encore’s continuing progress! Merry Christmas to all of you!
Wow – Susan that is really awesome!!
What I couldn’t help but marvel at is how she feels no pity, no anger, no injustice for her new physical challenge, and how fast she is responding!
If I ever face a similar challenge in the future, I will think of Encore’s lack of “baggage” and her remarkable healing and progress!
Hugs,Dianne
She is doing FABULOUS !!! So happy to see. As I sit here in my pjs hair uncombed you brought tears to my eyes!

So wonderful to see!! Her nose touches have greatly improved since just 2 days ago! Encore’s ready to get back to her normal activities. Now her body just needs to catch up with her. Merry Christmas to you, John, Lynda, Encore’s Team and all of Say Yes and everyone’s Furkids! A new exciting year is just around the bend. 🙂

Simply amazing to see. Considering where she was 5 days ago to where she is now is awesome to see. Keep up the amazing work Encore! (and Susan)
Oh Susan! That is awesome! She looks so bright and happy and she has come soooo far! Her cognitive skills are obviously intact and physically she is making amazing strides. My boy, Ronan, has epilepsy and it was extremely difficult to get him out of his last seizure. I have a small idea of what you all have been through and it brings me so much joy to see her doing so well. Happy tears here!!
Lovely to she your girl enjoying life;-)
I hope you rinsed off John’s toothbrush before you gave it back to him 😉
