Recallers 2019 Video Contest Round One
When we live with a dog, we have high expectations and visions of a rosy future, just like the movies. But as we all know, life is not like the movies, and rather than having a dream relationship with our dog, it can be one of frustration. Frustration for us, and most certainly frustration for our dog who is trying to tell us things we are not hearing. There comes a point when we need to decide to make changes, to learn more, to seek solutions, and to build our relationship with our dog so there is mutual trust, a deep bond, and a lot more joy.
Every year at around this time, we run a video contest to celebrate our Recallers members. Our Recallers are all over the world and all different levels of dog training experience from first time puppy or rescue dog owners to leading professionals in their field. They have many different lifestyles. Some live in a big city, others in small towns or rural areas, and others miles from nowhere. All share the common bond of wanting to “DO” better, to seek solutions, and to make the change they want for the dogs in their life. In our Recallers program, sure you will get a dog who turns on a dime and comes when called, all by playing games … but you will also get oh so much more. The short video stories shared by our Recallers go a long way to explaining that “oh so much more”.
Today is the first round of our Recallers video contest, where we celebrate a group of people who wanted to find a “better way”. Over the years, many thousands of dogs and people have had their lives changed through Recallers, and have moved from a world of frustration and “don’t” to a world of possibilities and “do”. We will soon be opening registration for Recallers, and there is no better way to to start than by sharing the stories of Recallers dogs and the people who love them so much.

Over the next few days, we will be posting three semi-final rounds of short video stories for you to vote on. Pick your top two favourites in each round. We will finish the contest with the “Finale” where the top six videos of the week (the top two of each round as voted for by you) will go head to head to compete to be in the top three of the year. They are all such brilliant stories but I have and always will be in the Ladonna fan club- I watch her all year long and feel like we are family!
Everyone of these brought tears to my eyes. I choose Brent because he reminds me of one of my dogs and LaDonna because of challenge of training multipul dogs. Thanks for doing this Susan. It gives me some perfectly timed encouragement.

It was incredibly difficult to choose just two. Tackling a multi-dog household is a really difficult task, as is a very scared dog as you have so much more to overcome. All the videos were so interesting & all deserve a prize for persevering.
