Puppy Peaks Video Contest Voting – Day 1!

Posted on 08/26/13 20 Comments

Well let me start off by saying, “WOW!”  Once again, the members of our wonderful community have managed to surprise me with your talent…not only as dog trainers, but as video makers as well!  Over the last two weeks, we have been running our 1st Official Puppy Peaks Video Contest.  Puppy Peaks is an online “documentary” of sorts – call it “reality TV” for dog owners. It is a series of weekly video “peeks” into how I have trained my dog, Swagger (who was born in my home), from only 4-weeks-old puppy to present day super star. Swagger at now only two years old, has already won two USDAA Regional Championships (one each in Steeplechase and Grand Prix).

As we are about to open registration for Puppy Peaks again for the first time in nearly 2 years, and we thought there was no better way to start things off than to hear from our past “Peakers” on how Puppy Peaks positively affected their lives.  And thus, the Puppy Peaks Video Contest was born!

The results were overwhelming! We received so many fantastic video entries that we decided we could not choose just the top 15!  So we’ve decided to change the contest to 4 days of voting and show our TOP 20! And now it’s up to you, our blog readers, to choose your favorite 4 videos!

Here’s how it will work:  Each day for the next 4 days, we will post 5 of the top 20 videos for you to vote on.  Then you vote for your favorite TWO videos of the bunch each day. On the 5th and final day, the top 8 videos will face off for the Grand Prize!

Without further ado, let’s kick off our first day of voting with our first 5 AMAZING videos!

1.) Anthea Rocker

2.) Megan Meade

3.) Chantelle Charlebois

4.) Tamara Allcorn

5.) Trudie Julien

Vote for your 2 favourite videos below!

I am amazed that my little video got included in the finals and thanks to everyone for your encouragement.
I love watching my dog work, I marvel, I am so proud! given that as a trainer there are many skills I’m just in process of acquiring.
When we started with Susan Garrett’s Recallers course he was aleady 4 years old. Oh my! We didn’t even have a “sit” on cue! During Puppy Peaks we realized we had to have value for a toy, and that process took 9 months – it has been an incredibly rewarding experience.

It’s a shame we have to pick just two. I saw amazing progress and results in all of the videos. Way to go to everyone who takes up the cause for their canine friends. I currently have 2 dogs who get daily 5-minute formula training.
I am getting a kitten soon, and will try some of the 5-minute formula techniques on him, too. I am curious to see the fundamentals will work on cats????

Megan’s video is blocked here because of the music – would have liked to watch it. I love how Anthea talks about her journey so naturally as if we were just having a chat so that one is my favourite!
