I had a tough job so I am looking for some help for each of you.
It was nearly impossible to pick out the top 15 of nearly 200 amazing videos from the graduates of my 5 Minute Formula to a Brilliant Recall. I was absolutely blown away by the creativity, enthusiasm, and courage it took to come up with these videos. And you guys really crushed it.
I watched every single video and they were all great. It was an international field, with videos coming from all over the world. I wish I could pick the top 197 but I need to narrow it down so with my team’s help, we selected our finalists.
You will pick a winner from each group by voting in the poll below. I’ll have more for you over the next 2 days. So 3 days and total of 15 videos. There will be 5 winners selected. Each of these lucking recallers are going to win a free pass into my next on line project.
Voting will close down at midnight (Toronto time aka New York time) on Sunday March 20th. We reserve the right to discount votes if evidence of tempering exists. In fairness to all of the hard work by each Recaller do not vote unless you have viewed each of the videos.
Today I am grateful for this amazing group of recallers that will forever be etched in my heart as my “first.”

Can’t wait for the next class!
Are there more videos to watch?! What a lot of talent out there.
@BJ there sure are! If you haven’t gone to Day 2 & Day 3 on the blog here do that and if you want to see all of the brilliant recall videos just go to my facebook wall (http://www.facebook.com/SusanGarrettDogAgility) and start scrolling through the old posts. They were amazing!
I liked them all, but chose the one that has all original (not copyrighted) songs, books, etc. Brilliant AND original!
Like Suzanne, I too am not computer savvy and could not post a video.
But after the Recaller course I am able to call off my girl from her #1, most rewarding behavior…fence running!! All I wanted was to be able to stop her mindless “ping-ponging” at the fence, I got so much more from this class! Thanks Susan for an excellent course!
We have a little mascot for recallers 2 – we have Swagger!!!
Hi susan
How can I get on the waiting list??
Tarah
NZ
@Tarah you can get on the wait list to be the first informed by signing up at http://dogagilityblog.wpengine.com/recall-membership-closed/
GREAT Videos All….very impressive and love seeing hunting breeds working so well with valuable distractions 🙂
Great Great job, can’t say it enough!
Mary
Could we make a recallers DVD soundtrack with 5 winning videos. Then we could download the videos onto our Ipods and they then become a motivational tool (power phrases etc). I put my movie onto my ipod so that I can watch it at trials to remember the things that I learnt in the recallers course. Poor Susan as if you dont have enough work to do.
joR
Kim’s is also nice – but it needs the small text ‘blurbs’ to be placed on their own page – they went by so fast I couldn’t read them – and I’m a FAST reader!
Otherwise her text size and screen timing was good.
I’m wondering, like Susan. If we were in RR version 1 and submitted a video, and I’ve replied to an email confirming my email address and Level last time, what else do I need to do, and when do I need to do it? Will I get an email telling me when I need to log in?
@Marcy we will like you know when the times comes. It is a completely brand new site (sooo cool — you guys are going to LOVE it) so your old log ins won’t work.
I was Recallers 1.0, posted a video, emailed Lynda, but didn’t receive a confirmation. Do I need to email Lynda again?
Susan: Will the new course sign up show up in our email next week or do we have to log into a site? How about the free training, will it just show up in our email?
@Deborah if you are the waiting list http://dogagilityblog.wpengine.com/recall-membership-closed/ you will be notified first. Some of the people on this list couldn’t get into the last course so they get the first shot. Anyone can sign up on that list now. Next I will mail to my newsletter peeps and then finally the word will go out here on the blog and on Facebook.
Wow! Watching the Iggy video reminded me so much of my Petey and me! I love him with all my heart, and I have a lot of hope for him in agility and herding, but unless I can get him more interested in me rather than the rest of the world, we’re going to have a tough road ahead. When’s the next online course taking place?????
@Rachel the course will open next week. It is unlikely I will be able to accommodate everyone in the class (I couldn’t last time around — in the end we had a waiting list:().
My plan is to start next week and focus on some free training for everyone so that even if folk don’t get a spot in the class they will be able to start working toward changing their dog’s behaviour and building a better relationship.
‘My plan is to start next week’
***Well that just made my night!! 🙂
Susan – you soooooo rock! was starting to ‘panic’ least we miss out – puppy can wait, but 3 yr old can’t! Cheers!!!
Thank you everyone for all the fab videos, I’ve spent alot of time this week watching them!
I’ve also been rereading my journal of our time on the course, makes for interesting reading! We were playing like mad things! (it was the summer holidays here in the UK) I write so much about Bob shutting down, not wanting to play tug and worrying about what to do.
Well I just wanted to say I no longer see this anymore! I think my attitude has changed, I no longer have to make it better! He no longer shapes me into getting the cookies out if he doesn’t want to play tug! (I loved Agile Border terriers video, ‘Anatomy of a brilliant recall’)
We are a team! and I’m looking forward to Recallers 2 to help build on this.
Thank you Susan!
Great to hear how well the journal works Helen!
Love all the videos, the music, the comments, the dogs. This has been so much fun! @Susan, do those of us original Recallers that posted videos have to register or are we automatically enrolled in Recallers 2.0?
Susan,
I have shared the links with my friends and many have emailed me that they are unable to vote (they are only seeing the current results).
Did I do something wrong or is there a glitch somewhere?
Thanks for your help, of course I’m hoping they will all vote for me and Jagger 🙂
@Jenna the poll system tracks IP address so no other computer can vote if you are at the same IP address. That prevents people from deleting cookies and voting more than once. The problem is that only one vote for household with the same IP address. I imagine your friends are at the same work place therefore share the same IP address. Will have to get them to vote at home!
ok thanks!
So does this means that there will actually be a top six instead of a top five?
These are great and I can’t wait until the next course, however I can’t get Kim Bartons video to play past 44 seconds – I have tried refreshing a few times, and coming back later but it doesn’t play any further – I love the start of it and want to see the rest
@Tarah that is strange, it just played all the way through for me. Maybe too many people watching it right now? Dunno, not my expertise. Weird though. Maybe turn your computer off and on – – it sure is worth seeing the ending!
Tarah,
You HAVE to watch all the video before you vote. Maybe try on Facebook or keep trying as Susan suggested. The end is great!
Does this mean the launch/signup for Recallers 2.0 is delayed to next week?
@yes we will open up for registrations again next week — had a couple blips this week:)
Regarding the next Recallers’ course. A friend of mine signed up for the first go round. She said there was a lot of reference made to Rough Love and Crate Games, neither of which I have. So, if one doesn’t have or hasn’t read or viewed these are they going to be missing out on the course content?
@Carol, having both of those resources would certainly enhance your experience as a Recaller but you absolutely can do the course without either of them as the daily lessons are explained in detail.
Having said that owning both of those resources is certainly recommended to anyone who ones a dog or is about to get one. When you sign up for the Recallers course I will offer a way to purchase items at a discounted price.
I hope you start this class at a time I can do it. I just missed the last one, and I will have surgery April 7th. But really. Surely I can do just 5 minutes of fun with my dog during that time, right? 🙂 Love reading about the class and what people are learning from it. Keep it up!
Okay, I’m saving up my moola…. Snap sure needs a refresher on recalling. Great videos, couldn’t have sold your system any better, Susan! The proof is really in the pudding!! :o}
Unfortunately it looks like I’m a little late to the party and hadn’t heard about your course until now. Recall around distractions is my dog’s weakest point — she’s too interested herding certain dogs around to recall reliably. Are you planning on hosting this online class again? Looking forward to the next announcement!
Great videos! Looking good!
@Jess not late at all, I am just about to launch a new Recallers course.
I Can’t wait! We really need this.
Will it be the same as the previous one, or does it have some different stuff (any extra tidbits of knowledge?!)
I agree with Sheena! A Recaller’s Course Soundtrack! Awesome idea. And thanks to individual who made the “How I became a Cookie” video. That will now be my mantra as with my Bichon Mitzy everything in the world is a cookie… except me! Now only to wait until the release of the Recallers 2.0- Cannot wait!
I have just spent the morning gardening and I can’t get that How to become a Cookie tune outa my head!!!
WOW! These videos are awesome! What a great idea, I just wished I was more computer savy so that I could have created mine. Oh well, guess I will just have to purchase again!
Don’t worry Suzanne, I plan on taking care of my Recaller family!
Wow! I am so impressed and thrilled to see these videos. They are all great and the people in them obviously worked their butts off to get amazing results!
They’ve also given me the motivation to get a BRILLIANT recall with my girl. Just spending the few minutes watching these videos has given me an idea of what I can do differently to get our recall from good to great.
Can’t wait to see the others!
Wow, Susan, intentional or not the video-a-thon has been free marketing genius! EVERYone is talking about your course this week. All very positive. My puppy has even decided it looks like so much fun that she’s going out of her way to prove how much she needs it now! 🙂 Hoping to get her in the next wave, trying to wait patiently for the announcement for new enrollment (but it’s hard!!).
What great videos… all of them, very difficult to choose.
@Lynne, I am so glad I didn’t decide to award just one prize!
Can’t wait too much longer for info on this years course. I would like to start right now…I’ve got 5 minutes! 🙂
When is your next class? It looks like so much fun!!!!!
@ Deborah soon!
So sorry I didn’t post a video- need to click my husband more and maybe he’ll finish the software upgrade that’s in progress. And, I missed a video opportunity with the beagle puppy yesterday but had a lovely recall off the neighbor’s dog at our fence! A send back out to look, perfect recall back. Another send and a 2/3 distance turn-on-a-dime recall. Love putting the money in for a wonderful payback!
Oooo so tough to even decide on two out of those five! Susan I am not surprised you handed this over!!
Absolutely inspiring to see my fellow recallers doing their thing!
Fabulous videos!!! My two favorites are “How to Become the Cookie” and “Iggy the BC”. Great job you guys!!! I am so excited to do this course again. Watching the videos has really inspired me!!! Thanks again Susan!!
What great vidoes. Susan, I can see why you might need some help deciding on these. The down side—-I wish I’d been able to sign up for the e-course!
Carol
When is the next one, I think I had better sign up this time. I almost did last time. 🙁
I think “Become the cookie!” would make a great Tshirt for the recallers.
@Cathy, LOL Excellent idea! Not for the course but for Say Yes Dog Training!
Best T-shirt slogan contest?? My entry…You get what you PLAY for!…if it hasn’t been done yet.
I like the cookie shirt Idea and the other sayings I have at the top of my head often is “Whose driving the bus” My BC is clear when she is trying to drive the bus like 90 MPH down the highway but my 11year old husky mix tries to drive the bus but he does it more like moving the bus around the parking lot a 5 feet every hour – in a way much hard to realize.
Um mine is driving the bus off the cliff and yelling “hang on”, and all our other dogs are on board going yee ha! Life in the fast lane with Collies!!!
This might be a very stupid question 😛 but if I decide to join The Five Minute Recall E-course next time, am I only “aloud” to play games with my dogs for 5 minutes every day?
I usually play/train with them more (but none of of my dogs have a brilliant recall…)
@Cecilia nope, no limit to the number of sessions you do per day if you are a real keener. However it is important that you keep these sessions to 5 minutes per day or less.
I like Iggy the BC the best but as you said all the videos are excellent.
@Sheena that is a FANTASTIC idea – I would definitely buy that soundtrack 🙂
This is hard! I’m onto my 3rd viewing.
I am so impressed and can’t wait to sign for this class!
i think i may have to put together a music mix based on the soundtracks chosen for these recallers’ videos…there’s some great tunes there that will now inspire me every time i hear them! 🙂
Yes!
