Recallers has always had a wonderful community of like-minded dog owners, and Recallers Dogs are recognizable by the games they play and the joy they express. This year, with the opening of our Critical Core (or FREEcallers) to everyone for free, our community has proved to be seriously amazing, and many more dogs are on their way to becoming ‘Recallers Dogs’!
Our Recallers family was excited about FREEcallers opening up, because they wanted everyone to experience the same learning and joy in the program that they have experienced.
We now have 24,973 new Guest Pass holders “playing their way” through our Recallers Critcal Core program. People seeing for themselves the possibilities for their own dogs, when the dog’s education is done through a series of games.
It’s very likely that many of our Recaller “guests” had never heard of Susan Garrett or considered the impact this “free program” could have on their dog prior to joining us. Yet they took a chance and in just one week are seeing an unbelievable transformation begin.
With so many different options around us for dog training, so many opinions to be heard, I thought it would be a good time to re-share this video.
Our Recallers community is made up of both people brand new to our program and those coming back to re-visit our Recallers program. Here are some of the comments from our forum from “FREEcaller” from people sharing their excitement about all they are learning…
“Thank You Susan for offering this to all of us!!!!!!”
“I love seeing my dog think and that is exactly what is happening. Not only that, but I have more motivation to train every single day, multiple times a day. You have opened up my eyes to what training really is, and my relationship with my dog has never been better.”
“Thank you Susan for “Freecallers” ! I’m hooked and loving it. My two boys are already focusing more on me and every move I make. They never know when it’s coming. Your fun game approach adds that element of surprise and keeps the dogs ‘wanting’ to constantly check in on me’.
“I am really excited to try this out – always so much for me to learn about working with my dogs! Thanks for making this available!”
“I am super excited to have the opportunity to take this course – thank you so much!”
“Thank you so much Susan and the whole Say Yes Team for doing this!”
“Susan is awesome, and Recallers is incredible. On to the game days.”
“For me it was an “aha” effect when listening to the video – thanks a lot Susan!! – you have filled the gap for me between positive reinforcement and what to do when he is misbehaving.”
This week our FREEcallers community has the opportunity to upgrade to carry on their journey with us and take the next step as a full member of our Recallers community. During this week we will continue to offer our FREE Guest Pass to Recallers Critical Core. However, no more “Guest Passes” will be issued after Friday July 17th. Once you are a “Guest” in our Recallers community, we welcome you to stay for many months to come.
I have no idea where our “Guest Pass” program will lead us in the future. However, I do know lives have been changed over this past week with this “FREEcallers” program. New people are now a part of our community and will grow together with their dog from here. I do know it can lead to the most amazing relationships they have ever had with a dog. I also know it can lead to a better life for their dog, a life of less restrictions and more freedom. And I also know that people from all over the world who first came to Recallers, as “curious dog lovers” are now running their own, “reinforcement-based dog training schools”. So who really knows where this journey will lead you!
So yes, lives are changed and I can’t tell you how excited each member of our Say Yes team is to be a part of these transformations. There is still time to join us, or to share your excitement with other dog lovers in your life. If you would like to change the path of dog lovers in your world, please share our Guest Pass offer before Friday. Who knows where it will lead?
Today I am grateful that TOGETHER, we are changing the world for dogs everywhere.
My Bad, 🙂 I found them. Please disregard my request.
I am a guest. I received Game Day 4, but have not received Game Day 1 thru 3. At your convenience could you send or re-send. Thank you in advance
Sue
First let me say that I am really enjoying working with the lessons provided to freecallers. I am thrilled with the positive reinforcement approach and IYC options – I certainly agree that a self-empowered dog is the best solution. Am having a little trouble figuring out how to apply this approach to my girl’s two issues. Wiley is a 7 month old miniature Australian Shepard /Blue Heeler mix. She’s a rescue we have had for 4 months and she is very bright and anxious to please — but has some separation anxiety, which surprises me as she is seldom left alone. I bring her with me to work whenever my husband isn’t home to “hang” with her. She is only crated at night. My husband works 2nd shift so it is usually about midnight/1am before she’s crated. About 6am she will start to whine and yelp in her crate. I know I am not supposed to respond to negative behaviors but this will go on steadily for hours. If she hears us get up or a door open – she is immediately silent and patiently waits for her release. On vacation last month we had to have the crate in our bedroom and she never made a sound. The issue is we want to travel with her a lot, and need to be able to leave her in the hotel room, in the crate, without her disturbing other guests. Any suggestions?
Thank you so much Susan for sharing your knowledge and expertise with us.
Thank you Susan for this opportunity. I am loving everthing you have shown us so far. My Dog is learning quickly and does not even know he is being trained. I am going to be getting a puppy soon and intend to use all that I am learning through your Recallers class. Thank you again.
Trish
The video above is just perfect!!!!!! I feel so represented!!!!!! I will translate it into spanish (I’m from Argentina) and share it (whith the corresponding link to your site)! Thank you for your inspiration Susan! 🙂
Hi Susan, I just had a god awful day at work, but decided to collect terrier and husband, go to nearby field with brand new tug toy and wow – the restrained recalls were fantastic, even when some people and dogs arrived he just glanced and kept right on with the focus. I’m feeling tearful as I write this because he was so amazing, it helped me forget my horrid day and it’s all thanks to you and your programme. He got to go wild with the other dogs after as a treat which he loved and after having a fab time happily sat for his lead. Thank you again, you really made my day today. 🙂
My local senior center thanks you, Susan, for the amazing transformation in Presto. In just one week of utilizing your games they didn’t recognize the focused and controlled border collie who came in the door to visit as a therapy dog-in-training. They swore I was fibbing and had brought in another dog. He even showed them in a couple of rounds of ‘It’s Yer Choice’ that he can be patient instead of invading personal space. This is turning my over-eager mach 10 lover into a mannered ambassador. They enjoyed his visits before, today they were blown away! And it’s only been a week!
I love that Jennie!
Thank you Susan for creating and sharing this presentation!
Seeing my dogs looking for next game not where’s the food .one is a terrified rescue who is really catching this quick. The other very not a giver of an inch is actually loving it
THANKS SUSAN
Great article as usual!! Love Recallers and excited to be playing again as an Alumni!
Thank you for the inspirational blog today. Now I am going to get away from the computer and take the dogs for a hike in the wild flowers.
I had the total wrong idea about Susan Garretts training methods. Somehow I had gotten the idea that there was a lot of blaming the dog. But being on freecallers I realise it aligns with my own belief that when there is a problem you should look at your training program and readjust it. So glad I gave it a try as the trouble I was finding for some problems was that I had no tools at my disposal. Critical core has really added to my collection of tools and I feel I will be able to solve some things that previously had me stumped.
Glad you have enjoyed it Amanda!
Susan I took Recallers 5.0 and Puppy Peaks. Now we area enjoying Freecallers along with 8 of my friends. I had told them about your online course last year and how it changed our lives. I am greatful everyday to you and your team. Every time my dog looks at me, every time she does what I ask , I think of you. I have never enjoyed learning something so much in my life. You really are an inspiration, and I can’t think of too many people I can honestly say that about.
Signed up for the Brilliant Recallers Alumni Membership, have not received any logon info or temporary password.
Contact us at [email protected] and someone awesome will get right back to you Janice
I love what you are doing and the training methods you pass on too us.
I am relatively new to this kind of training and am totally immersed.
Thanks Susan.
I found your site a year ago when my lab puppy turned out to be a runner…she loves us, but she can’t resist the big, beautiful world. I’ve tried many training options since then (books, group classes, private training), waiting for recallers to be available again. Then, I had a break in training due to an injury…both my girls are so excited to be back in training. And I’m intrigued to see games I know played just a little differently…I really love the emphasis on helping the dogs to make choices, rather than avoid punishment or seek reward–both of which skills they’ve already learned quite well!
My youngest is still a runner…but I hope that the excitement she has for these games is the first step to getting her to a point where she is making her own choices, without constant management.
Thank you for this course!
Thank you so much for this inspiring video! What a wonderful way to start my day 🙂
Thank you Susan for this amazing course. I have learnt so many things in a short time. Like you mentioned in the video I was one of those restraint recalls who stopped at stage one and was showing the tug. Already by taking on board your method I’m seeing improvements.
Thank You Susan for yet another inspirational video. The life lessons and advice are priceless. I would rather catch butterflies with a beautiful garden than a net. Awesome!!! Yes, this can and will apply to my dog training. What lucky dogs to have us as trainers learning so much about becoming better natural trainers. I Love the positive!!!!!
Hi Susan,
I’m Heather from England and I have an English cocker spaniel called Norman. I got a guest pass as Norman has all the general problems such as bad recall, raiding the bin and he gets so excited at “walkers” time he won’t come near me to put the harness on. The collar grab game is really helping with this and that is great. I bought your crate games DVDs some months ago and spent some time working with him opening and closing the crate, clipping the lead on etc. but when it came to letting him out of the crate he refused to come out and just sat in there barking, waiting for more treats. As I couldn’t progress on to the next part I eventually gave up and lured him out with a treat…..oops! My bad. I haven’t gone back to it since and was thinking of signing up for the full online package. However I couldn’t find anything about prices or anything on your site and was wondering if you have to pay in one go or if you do a monthly payment plan as I don’t know if I’ll be able to afford it. Could you let me know how to find this information. In the meantime I’m having great fun working with Norman on the game days. Thank you so much for giving us this opportunity.
I just happened to come across your Free pass Susan must’ve been serendipity at play because I was really wanting a programme that was consistent fun and most importantly gets results. Since playing its your choice and having the aha in your video when you said this game can be applied to everything! I have indeed started to apply it to everything I can think of and my one year old patterdale x border terrier is now loving training on a whole new level and me too I’m loving it. I’m long term unemployed due to illness so I wouldn’t have been able to buy the full version just in case it wasnt as good as it is- so being able to preview so much content for free has taken the gamble out of that decision of whether to go for the paid version or not Thank you so much
Hi, I’m watching day3 od your FREEcallers course, thanks for giving so much for free.
Thank you so much for these games Susan!! We’ve seen a difference already!
Will there be the opportunity to pay to get the whole Recallers experience? Would love to sign up for it!
We are just putting the finishing touches on how to make upgrades available to our current “Guest Pass” holders. We will send out an email later today.
I also was planning on signing up for the full deal recallers so thrilled to have the guest pass, but would love information on how to upgrade – as mentioned in the blog.
Thank you Susan and your great team!
Thank you Susan for offering the “free callers”. It gives me motivation to get up & work with my dogs. They enjoy the training/games & I can see the improvements already in their behavior & relationship with me. I am learning every time I get up & train my dogs. That is my motivation.
Again thank you!
Susan,
Thank you so much for that inspiring video, you’re not only changing my dog-training life.
But also my personal life!
Thank you again!
Love,
Chantal
Thank you for the free Guest Pass to Recallers. When I saw your link on Louise Hay site I know I had to join. I love the way you think and enjoy your videos, I have learned a new way of thinking. I am so grateful for this opportunity thank you, thank you, thank you. Kay
I believe online dog training is the trend of the future. This is my 6th time taking Recallers. I’ve learned something “new” with every course. And, Susan is brilliant at improving or enhancing the course each time. Plus, I find I learn in layers and missed some subtle nuances the first few times through the course.
My young dog was showing at a recent agility trial. The judge complimented my dog’s performance and asked where I trained. I replied, “I train with Susan Garrett.” Given I live far from Canada, the judge gave me a strange look. I smiled and said, “I take her online handling course.” Whether it’s Recallers, Handling 360, or Puppy Peaks, I have access to the information I need 24/7 and at my convenience. And by watching the video before I train, I’m prepared for how to make the training fun and what behaviors I want to reward and which ones to ignore. Online training has made me a better trainer, and it’s reflected in my dogs performance. Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to learn from the best dog trainer on the planet. Thank you Susan for your amazing courses!
Good morning, Susan!
I want to add my voice of thanks for this wonderful opportunity. We are PP but have not been able to carry on in other classes. I just read the freecallers is good for 6 months. I am relieved. I had a glitch in my well planned time and have fallen far behind. Thanks.
What I wanted to say was I really found value in your video above about Zig and the butterflies. Finding ways to enjoy what you love and doing it always seems so much easier than snapping a whip. I’m a teacher retired and returned to the classroom. Coming back to this community gives me joy as I love what I do. The video is a great reminder to each of us that life is too short to be snapping the whip when we could be so much happier choosing a path that refreshes us. This is true in our lives and certainly should be true for our dogs as they trust us to give them the best.
Thanks once again,
Meg
Thank you, Susan, so much for the FREEcallers! It has been so much fun, it’s so positive, and even with older dogs..IT WORKS!!
Thank you for sharing your immense wealth of knowledge!!!
I’m discouraged. I’m so delighted with all this material, especially since I originally wanted to sign up for Recallers several years ago. It’s very generous of you to open it up to everyone now. But I wasn’t able to get started at the same time as everyone else, and I don’t know if it’s too late to start now. I’ve been watching the videos and taking the quizzes, but not doing the games. Should I just start doing the games from the very beginning and be behind?
It’s not too late to start the games! I encourage you to get off the computer and go play!! It’s fun and amazing when you see the wheels turning and then the light bulb comes on! I’m loving it! Thank you, Susan, a bazillion times over!
Don’t worry about getting behind! As any Alumni of the course can tell you, these games are such a valuable foundation that after you and your dog learn them, you’re going to GROW them! All of the games!! So just jump in and get started. Many of us work at a snail’s pace, for many different reasons….just play a game….then play another one, and another….
Susan, Thank you for sharing the this mini course. I am looking forward to signing up for the full course as it becomes available. I have been involved in training dogs for over 35 years, and like you have matured along the way. I have placed extreme emphasis on my continuing education and, like you, that my training methodology mirrors my spiritual and core beliefs in kindness, kinship and empowering others. You have a wonderful way of presenting your thoughts and lessons. As the person that goes along with a very (mentally and physically) active Black and Tan Coonhound I am so aware of how important positive training, impulse control and trust (on it’s many levels) is. I truly enjoy your presentation and look forward to seeing/reading/learning more.
Best,
Linda
Susan and everyone at Say Yes,
I am so incredibly grateful for the opportunity you’ve given me with the guest pass! I have been training my dogs since I was a teenager (I’m 49 now) and this is the best training system I’ve found. I was using some of your techniques from your blog and YouTube, but this course has given me better understanding of your methods and my mistakes. Both my future agility comp dog, Jessie and my 16 1/2 year old retired buddy Blake are loving your games! I’m currently unemployed due to health reasons, and training my dogs not only brings joy to them but to me, as well as giving me exercise to improve my health. To say I was overjoyed to get my guest pass is an understatement.
Thank you so much for all you do for dogs and their people!
Susan,
I cannot begin to thank you. I have a six-year old BC who started out as a rather wild thing. Her mother ran cattle here in TX if that tells you anything. I take her to groomers to clip her black nails as they totally freak me out. It took three years for her two sweet groomers to be able to cut her black nails without muzzling her. That was after we had started the first recallers course I took with you. It has been a struggle to get her to allow any brushing. Due to that, my husband has to hold her front end while I work on mats, burrs, etc. on her hind end. No fun for any of us, but it has to be done. After boarding her for 10 days, she came back with enormous rear-end mats. Watching the Freecallers and Puppy Peaks videos, I suddenly realized I could use the IYC which she loves so much while trying to untangle her messy, matted hind end. In fact, she now does better concentrating on the treats while I chant “brush, brush, brush” (even if I am clipping) without my husband holding her at all. She especially did not like him holding her tail up to give me better access. Now, I can just work around him. I don’t know how to express my gratitude, Susan. I feel so lucky to have your guidance!
This has been SO much fun! For both me, and my Boxer Paisley! It has been incredible watching her learn and make choices . So many changes already in such a short time. She’s so excited when it’s game time and she’s actually wanting to be involved with me! Starting to feel like a team! Thank you so much Susan! 🙂
Thank you so much Susan for making this information available. I have followed you as a trainer in the past and work with animal rescue. No matter how much you learn, there is so much refreshing of training tips and new ways of looking at information it makes it more fun and amazing to work with our animals and see the great results.
Even though I signed up as soon as Freecallers was available, I am still unable to view the videos due to some kind of Security Certificate problem.
I contacted your Customer Happiness people and they sort of got right back to me but did not have a workable solution.
I remain hopeful that somehow, some way the glitch can be ironed out so my dogs can benefit from your excellent program.
Thank you for offering this program.
Hi Mary, We are so sorry you are having difficulty with the security certificate. We are working with our vendor to see what we can do to assist. I hope to have an answer for you tomorrow. Thank you for being patient with our team.
Wow Susan, I’m so touched by your gratitude for us. I came to say thank you for the free recallers access as it’s certainly helping me build a wonderful relationship with my dog. She already is a wonderful family pet, but this type of “training” really resonates with me. Thanks.
My best friend is a 26 month old Australian Shepard. We have been training for 2 years in obedience, rally and agility, we have been kicked out of agility 2 times now, due to the zooms and reactiveness!!! He is in his 8th week of ruff love, playing crate (love the video)
the just say yes games, I am already seeing better recalls and focus I know now that with just say yes and the land of do community that our dream of competing in agility WILl come true! Cant wait for more! THANK YOU Susan you really encourage me, wish I was in Canada
Thank you for the inspiring video and for sharing your passion for teaching with the world. You have an awesome team supporting us Freecallers. My dogs are enjoying our games. I am seeing an unexpected calmness and confidence in my dogs. This is fun stuff!
I love your message-I get so mired down from negativity sometimes it is good to be reminded of who I am and want to be as a person. I have thirteen rescued dogs and often feel overwhelmed trying to give them all quality time. They all love to train and play and I am so blessed. Thank you Susan for your kindness and generosity. You have definitelychanged our lives.
Hello Glenda, Are you in Ohio? Do you belong to YABTC? Holler back, I just fell in love with RECALLERS. Good luck with all your dogs!
Thanks, Susan, for the inspiring words in this evening’s video! They certainly resonate with me! The biggest problem I have in life is that I find joy in so many things that I have trouble fitting them all in, so sometimes I have hard choices to make about what I will do each day.
I live in a beautiful rural area which I absolutely love. However, I really don’t have a lot of choices for dog training instruction, so I especially appreciate this on-line opportunity. It’s not unusual for me to have to drive 25-55 miles to take my dog to class, and that turns a one hour class into a two-three hour adventure, which can sometimes be trying for a young puppy (though it certainly gets them used to car rides!).
Thanks again for offering FREEcallers, and thanks for being positive and upbeat with PEOPLE as well as with dogs!
Thank you Susan! Having a lot of fun with my two dogs. I have no helpers but we are having fun. Thank you again
i have a quess pass to recallers and me and my dogs are enjoying it My 10 month old puppy Star is doing better and my agility dog of 5 years is doing better I see a difference in just the 3 sessions I have tons ay I have done some form of what you have showed us these first 3 days but wished I has started yours to start with Thanks
Thank you Susan for all you do and share! Do Land has made a real difference for my dogs.
I was only able to get the first 2 videos. I couldn’t get on after that.
We were having such fun with ‘It’s yer choice’.
Try logging out and back in again Linda. If that doesn’t work contact us at [email protected] and someone awesome will get back to you!
I was ready to sign on for the “full meal deal” before it became FREEcallers. Thank you so much for this opportunity to join your community!
I haven’t had time to watch all the videos yet, and I want to make sure my kids watch too. Is there a time limit on the guest pass access?
Hi Cindy, Guest Pass access is open for 6 months, so you have plenty of time to enjoy with your family!
That’s great! I’m a little behind as well because I am also working with reactivity and fear in my year old JRT. Once we complete the four games and feel confident to move forward, will we be able to join the full program at anytime, or will we need to wait for another session?
I tried to get a Guest Pass and got a message that someone from Susan Garrett Dog Agility would get back to me. Have received nothing yet. Used the password given to me in a Brillant Recallers email. Don’t know what the problem is or was?
Cathi contact us at [email protected] if you are having issues…somebody awesome will contact you right back and get you fixed up.
Hi Cathi,
I wanted to follow up, we show you are confirmed and have received the login information.
Please email [email protected] if our team can assist further.
Me, too.
