If you’re a Gmail user, you may have noticed some changes in that inbox of yours. Things look a little different, don’t they?  You may notice 3 tabs across the top, where there used to be only one.  That’s because, over the last month or so, Google has rolled out a new email format, which automatically filters the messages in your inbox into categories.

In this new format, all messages from me will be filtered into your Promotions tab!

This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as long as you know how to set your settings so you don’t miss any of my important emails. We have some exciting things in store for the next couple months, so let’s get those settings fixed so you don’t miss a thing!

How to Change Your Gmail Email Settings (Don’t worry, it’s easy)!

Step 1: Open up your Gmail. You’ll notice there are 3 tabs across the top:  PRIMARY, SOCIAL, & PROMOTIONS.

Step 2:  Click on the PROMOTIONS tab. In the search bar at the top of the screen, type in my name, “Susan Garrett.”  A bunch of emails from me will pop up.

Step 3: Find an email from me, Susan Garrett (or from my email address, [email protected]). Click on the email and then drag it from the “Promotions” tab into the “Primary Tab.” A yellow box will pop up at the top that says, “The conversation has been moved to Primary. Do this for future messages from [email protected]?

Step 4: Click “Yes” next to Do this for future messages from [email protected]?

That’s it! You’re done!  If you find this too complicated, you can also simply remember to always check your Promotions tab for messages from me!

Hate the new layout?  If so, you can go to you “Settings” tab in the top right corner, click “Settings,” and click on the Inbox.  Then just deselect the boxes next to “Promotions” and “Social,” and all of your emails will go in one place!

Thanks as always for listening!  I’ll be in touch soon! 🙂
