Day 3 of the Recallers 4.0 video contest is upon us! Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to come to the blog to vote and leave your feedback in the comment section. We agree with everyone – it is hard to choose just two each day! The competition has been close, and our top 15 videos should be proud…it’s quite an accomplishment to be chosen out of 26o videos! Great work to everyone who submitted a video for this year’s contest!
For those of you who are just joining us, last week we ran a video contest for the past students of my course, The Five Minute Formula to a Brilliant Recall (which will be opening again soon)! We asked that the videos be about their experience in the course; what they learned, how it changed our lives…anything that they wanted to say about Recallers. And what a response we got! We received over 26o videos singing praises about the course! We watched all of the videos, looking for creativity and originality, a strong message, and anything that we felt really portrayed the “essence” of Recallers. The decision was really tough, but we narrowed it down to the Top 15.
Now it’s up to you!
You get to choose the winners! For the last 2 days, we’ve posted 5 of the top 15 videos. If you haven’t voted yet! You can still vote on the Day 1 videos here, and the Day 2 videos here! Today we have posted the final 5 videos of the top 15. Scroll down to watch the videos and vote for your 2 favourite videos! Then on Sunday, we’ll take the top 2 videos from all 3 days, and have those 6 videos go head to head in one final day of voting!
We will choose 3 winners, who will receive an awesome price pack totaling over $300 in value!

Trying to vote day 2 and 3 but can’t seem to get a result. Still taking votes?
Has anyone heard when the final round begins?
Hi Diane! It will be today…the blog will be up in a an hour or two. 🙂
And again excellent!
Thanks everyone for your votes and kind words. Recallers gives everyone something different. For Josie, it gave her confidence and skills to help her learn and overcome her fear. It helped her to be able to focus on things other than being scared. Our journey has been a long and difficult one – and at times I believed she wouldn’t be able to work through her fear. Her shut down so great at times it broke your heart to see her shaking in the corner over something so minor. But now she has skills to help her work through her fear. I am happy to say we havent had a shutdown in almost a year! At one point I didn’t believe she would ever trial and the fact that she does is a bonus. Every run she has gives me such joy because I know what it took for her too get there. My dad always says she smiles with her tail and watching it spin when she runs shows how much she’s truly enjoys it. Thanks again!
Congratulations to each and every one! A difficult job to vote 🙂 so many wonderful changes and happier dog/owner relationships. Loved , too, Marose Magpily with the cat into the crate! Wonderful. Good luck to choosing the finalist! 😉 don’t envy your work!
Great job Sheri….you have done a great job, and you have a very happy dog as well.
Sounds like a great contest! I can’t wait to see the winners! Good luck everyone!
Rocky’s transformation is the perfect advertisement for Susan’s training methods. Especially for us terrier owners. I spent many agility runs chasing after my Cairnboy–we looked just like Sharon and Rocky! It took time, but we are a real team now, with only brief lapses (me and him!). During a clinic a few years when my Cairnboy wandered off to sniff while it was our turn to run, the presenter’s wise advice was “you have to be more exciting than the dirt.” That is also what Susan teaches us.
Linda, Yes…terriers do love the dirt and all the smells of the barns we trial in….
I want to add this…I worked agility with Rocky’s skills but his focus for work = play was a result of the recaller games!!! Sign up for Recallers 4 if work = play = focus is your goal!
All the videos are so great (go Rocky:)) and it’s so hard to choose but Sheri it’s stories like Josie’s that really I enjoy. Until someone has worked a timid, or problem dog they truely don’t understand what it is like and Recaller’s is the basis for all good things for dogs making training fun and when it is accomplished it makes your heart sing :)) Great videos everyone Loved the originality of the fast forward video too.
Sharon- yours is by far the best. Rocky is so cute. I will be sure to watch the other videos I saw on Youtube- he is the next jessie!
Thanks Polly…Rocky is a Jesse wanna be!!!
Leena- I’m surprised your video isn’t getting more votes! Great music, great editing, great content! Really nice work!
Marose Magpily, I loved it when the dogs AND the cat went into the crates 🙂
Thanks! I had to start training the cat as well because he was stealing all the treats I was laying down as distractions for the dogs! Just goes to show Recaller lessons aren’t just for the canines. 🙂
I am sure the cats can do just the same tricks/games as the dogs if the treats are good enough to keep them interested. They are tough customers 🙂
Rocky’s transformation in video 5 was awesome Sharon! Love the new focus on work (although I did laugh when he grabbed something and ran into the tunnel to eat it) :). He’s found his coookie. Congratulations! Great video!
Thanks so much Wendy !!
Sheri, what a beautiful and touching video. I couldn’t help but cry. I loved the clip when you are “dancing” with her and she does the most gleeful spin! Totally melts my heart to think of the way her world has changed from a scary place to a fun place. I have a timid little girl and am looking so much forward to helping her blossom.
It made all the difference in the world. I trained Josie tricks so that if she started to worry that I could get her to do. She loves her dance so instead of sitting at the start line letting her obsess or looking around at all the people staring at her, I get her to dance until we are ready. It is my default move that gets her mind off most things and back to working. She loves her dance!
WOW,WOW,WOW, you guys rock! These videos are AWESOME and so inspirational – words can’t describe how seeing the wonderful relationships that Recallers has built between these teams, has made me feel…… bring on Recallers 5.0, I can’t wait!!!! I am one very excited newbie to the magical world of Recallers!
Grandma Sharon, you and Rocky are INCREDIBLE!
Thanks so much Leah…you are the best granddaughter ever!!!!
As a Recaller 3 participant, I was happy to see how others were successful in their training, but I have to hand it to the Lady in Video 4. A cat???? How awesome is that! Loved it!
Keep up the great training to everyone out there. I love to see how we can succeed for our fur babies. (:
Sheri, was there with my abused five year old boy and agility made him a different dog. Awesome job! Give that baby a kiss for me!
Sheri your video touched my heart. So happy for your sweet baby. Marose, GREAT cat crate games 🙂 . Sharon, I understand what you have gone through as my younger dog was the same as Rocky before Recallers although I was TERRIFIED to even think about trialling him. He now has several novice titles thanks to Recallers . All of these videos are so awesome…so hard to choose!
Sheri, your video of your Josie’s journey really touched my heart. I am currently working with a foster dog who is fearful of other dogs, doesn’t trust, and has never learned any impulse control. I have been going very slowly with her, but have been very concerned of late for her future. Would she find the right owner, should I keep her, would she ever feel happy, confident, and safe? I took Recallers 2 and my dogs and I loved it, but then for some reason it didn’t click right away that it might be just the thing my Twistie needs until I saw your video. Thank you, you have inspired me to work her through all the Recaller games so that even if she doesn’t stay with me she will be well equipped to succeed in a new home. Your Josie is one lucky dog!
Asked previously, i did not see the answer…do you have to have taken Recallers 1.o to take 4.0, also is it a lottery or open to all?
Thanks, i am excited to see the possible, already live in the land of yes with my clicker, but so much more to learn.
Barbara – the 4.0 is just denoting how many times the course has been run so far , so no need to have done 1.0, 2.0. or 3.0. Come join us!
Hello Barbara,
no, you don’t have to have taken any Recallers before. You can sign up for the newsletter at http://www.susangarrett.com/?page_id=46 and Susan will let you know when Recallers 4.0 is open. The videos you are seeing are of the Recallers 3.0 students.
Barbara – Shelley & Effie are spot on! 🙂 You can start right up with Recallers 4.0…no need to take the others before. You can go to http://www.brilliantrecalls.com to read more about the course. Thanks!
So wonderful to see the video of Josie’s transformation; I’m excited about the possibilities for my timid Vita!
I’m really enjoying watching all these videos!
So hard to choose just 2 good videos…nice job everyone!!!
Congratulations to all, it’s another difficult vote!
Sheri – I just cried, such a beautiful video showing so clearly how recallers can transform dogs. Zach was the same before recallers 1.0!
Sharon – that pause table still makes me giggle! Love him!
I’ve had so many people come and say ‘we don’t want good dogs, good dogs are so boring, they look bored and robot like’ How I wish I could bring the world recallers!
Love that your video reflects the value of recallers for the “timid” dogs and how far they can come to having a fulfilling life by building on the relationship. Worked wonders for my Kai but it takes time and patience. Super story!
Love, Love, Love these videos! Great job and congrats! 🙂
