You Definitely Get What You Pay For . . . Most of the time.

Always the overachiever. This is not a move for everyone, most normal people just do a series of low end bounces to get in shape on a their Cellercise
Last week I wrote about how crazy I am about my rebounder or “Cellercisers”. Many of you jumped (pardon the pun) on board and bought one. Today I thought I would write about why the rest of you shouldn’t just run out and buy one of those less expensive units. You can get a Rebounder for under 50 bucks if you go to your local sport goods store. I know Lynda-OH did that at first. It was her having so much fun exercising on one that prompted me to first looking into the whole rebounding world in the first place.
I suggested she buy a Cellerciser when I bought one and maybe we could get a discount (my price was going to be $365 without a bar, however I have been able to get a much lower price for all of you). Lynda was convinced she was happy with her department store model and couldn’t afford one of those fancy units anyway since after all, it was just a bit of bouncing in the morning. It was Lynda gave me a few tips to get me started on my new unit. In the process of bouncing on mine she said iy ruined the experience of bouncing on hers. So her cheaper rebounder became a dog bed and she now has her own Cellerciser! 
From what I have read the cheaper model can actually cause nerve damage due to how stiff the bounce is. The physical difference you can see is in the springs themselves.

The low end models have your normal springs that very quickly bottom out. The Cellerciser has these fancy springs that are tapered and therefore engage at different levels for different weighted people, thus making sure everyone gets a similar bounce. Apparently there is also a difference in the mat quality, the metal used, how the springs attach to the frame (and some use simple grometts to attach to the mat). Some units only have 4 legs rather than six that the Cellerciser uses. You can do more research because there are a long list of differences but the main one is the bounce. The cheaper models jar my lower back, the Cellerciser does not, not even a little bit. So in this case you definitely get what you pay for.

For me one of the big benefits is even after four months of doing it now, I still just feel like a kid when I hop on. Definitely a great way to start the day.
Today I am grateful new beginnings. Down here in Florida I have brought in a very cute (but 10 -15 lb overweight) rescue Border Collie (actually closely related to Encore). At four years old she needs a new home due to a divorcing family. It has been a while since I have taken in a rescue, but I think I already have a home for this little girl so she will make the trip up to Canada with us next week and start her new beginning. In this case they will be getting something priceless for nothing, so I guess sometimes you do get far more than you pay for:).

Thanks for the Cellerciser info! But I’m really writing cuz I’m thrilled that you are doing some BC rescue too! I’ll bet that rescue dog sponsorship by someone such as yourself goes a long way in placing that dog into a great home!
I’ve held a funraiser, fun match for the Western Border Collie Rescue at my place before (and hopefully this year too!) and those dogs are very fortunate to have ‘found’ a temp home with these compassionate folks – who love BCs as much as we do! They can use any help we can give them to care for them and help them find new homes quickly!

I have one of those “Lower Priced” department store rebounders. A couple of months ago I decided to try it. I used it for a couple of minutes – as I was not used to it. The next day I could hardly walk- and it took several weeks to recover…
Needless to say – I will be getting a Cellerciser- in the near future.
Thank you for getting that beautiful girl on the road to a new beginning. My heart goes out to the family that had to give her up and at the same time is happy for the new family that gets to experience her love.

You are so totally right with some rescues you definitely get more then you pay for!!! I am very happy for that family that is getting the border collie, she looks gorgeous and how could she not be fantastic if she is related in any way to Encore? I am very excited to hear more about the cellerciser-it looks very fun
thanks for the info on the cellerciser. I ordered one and am curious how long it takes to get it and how is it delivered (to Alberta)? Yeah to the rescues: my 4-legged partner is a byproduct of an unplanned pregnancy of a rescue BC who hgerself has become a ‘working girl’, thanks to agility. can’t wait to get my cellerciser ….. it looks like so much fun.
Before I got into pro-level PVC construction, I used my rebounder as a pause table when I had to train indoors. When I move it to the garage for a while, my dog looked around for it, then decided the coffee table was a good enough substitute! Bad trainer.
Since YOU will always pay retail, YOU will always get what you pay for.
Does John know about that beautiful BC that you are bringing home? Maybe if you keep Encore and her separated, he won’t notice!!!

I am not sure about the time to ship the Cellerciser to Canada. They come from Utah so being in Alberta you have an advantage over those that ordered in eastern Canada.
Autumn, the rescue Border Collie, is going to have an awesome life. I know her family that gave her up loved her but just didn’t have the time for her. She is going to be the only dog in family with two teenagers that adore animals but she will be “dad’s” dog. This is the third rescue BC I have placed with this family over the last 20 years. It is a very active, sports minded family that will have the weight off of her in no time. Both of their previous two BC had long and happy lives.
ok, I ordered a cellersicer and it jsut came today. However, it came with a small package of 3 silver clips and I don’t know what I am suppose to do with them. There are no instructions. I go the halffold with the balance bar.Any ideas of what they are for?
