First of all a big congratulations to Alexandre Bilodeau for bringing Canada it’s first ever Gold
Medal at an Olympic Games that we where hosting (sadly in Montreal in ’76 and Calgary in ’88 we as a nation earned no gold medals). What a relief to finally got our first and what an awesome job Alexandre did. I stayed up until the wee hours of 10:30 PM (way late night for me:)) in order to enjoy both his run and his celebration.

Some of you have written comments on the blog that my spam filter gobbled up. I retrieved them and they all should be posted now. Sorry about that, I don’t check that darn thing often enough with all it’s crude sex toy ads. I guess with references to “Say Yes” and “Ruff Love” we sometimes attract the wrong kind of cyber bott. Oh my, I guess I have just done it again.

John pointed out to me on the weekend one day that 49 of the 50 US states had gotten snow that day. Just one more reason we should all be meeting up in Hawaii I say.

Change of plans of me. Due to the crappy weather, we did not leave to drive home instead I booked a flight to go and teach in Cincinnati and will fly back to Florida afterwards on Friday. I just didn’t want to have John be stressed by driving the RV in the snow (plus it gives me a few more days in the sunshine!). We actually don’t know now when we will come home. I think we will check the weather and see when we can get a few good days of driving.

Okay the shaping posts have been great. If you haven’t, go through the comments and check them out, espeically some of the videos. Keep them coming!
Today I am grateful for Alexandre Bilodeau, from here on out better known as Alexandre the Great, making our nation very proud and very relieved!
Mazel Tov Susan, AND you are snuggled up to Temple Grandin (OK, so both your names start with G)….but still, great work!!!
Not only did Canadian Alexandre Bilodeau win a gold medal, but Canadian Susan Garrett has been named one of “The Bark’s Best & Brightest: Honorable Mentions”. Susan has been honored as one of the “hard-working and dedicated folks who have made life-time commitments to the well being of dogs and other animals.” She was singled out for having “developed the “Say Yes” dog training philosophy, allowing dogs and owners to achieve their goals without physical or verbal correction.”
Well done Susan!!!
Oh, Canada has reason to be proud of YOU!
Tonight I’ll drink a “Keiths” in your honor!!
Thanks Chris, I hope you enjoyed your Keiths! For those who don’t know what Chris is on about check it out here. It really is kinda cool. Top 100!
Congratualtions on your medal Canada – I must be honest, as I read the posts about the snow and the cold I have to chuckle. I am participating in your blog from Sunny South Africa…we have blue skies around 29 degrees the dogs are running and playing outside – swimming and the likes. In fact our agility training sessions are happening outside in the evening from around 5:30 – 8pm (depending on the class) with handlers in t-shirts and sunsets like you can only dream about in Greece. We are participating in our S.A trials that will help select the top dogs to run at the S.A championships end of May. From the SA Champs the team to represent S.A is selected and they will see you all at the World Champs (AWC 2010). So the agility “climate” (hee hee) at the moment is a little competitive and tense with everyone seeking their personal best……anyway stay warm……oh and come and visit!
Good thinking on the flight here…..the drive from Michigan was…well we will just say I am sooooo happy to have two fur balls beside me in a hotel where we are warm and safe after a drive that felt like an arrival to a destination!
I hope you made it safe from the airport, and let’s send out something that says enough with the snow already; it’s beautiful but really…..
Can’t wait to see you tomorrow, glad I was able to come after all, and that I was able to make it in one piece!
Wait…. First gold for Canada, yesterday? Didn’t YOU win the first gold for Canada? 😀
“Alexander the Great” was indeed spectacular.
Safe travels.
Hope your flight gets in; I am not far from the airport and a couple of hours ago shoveled six inches of new snow off my drive in addition to the 10-12 inches left over from last week everywhere else. There’s now another inch to inch and a half on the drive again and still coming down…Looking forward to your weaves seminar tomorrow, couldn’t get to work today so hope I can still manage to get out early enough tomorrow to make it on time! (and praying I DO get out tomorrow-I’ve had enough of snow days!).
I had a good chuckle when the commentator said that now the “Oh” in “Oh Canada” no longer represented a big fat Zero in achieving a gold at a Canadian hosted Olympics.
Off to shaping sessions (dog in front position, putting right and left paws on my left and right feet respectively; maintaining as I walk forward or backwards). Just getting her to place the paws with consistently for now.
Thrilled today with Alexandre Bilodeau. Really seems like a strong role model.
As a Canadian living here in the US, I too was proud to see Canada get the medal… and now the weather is even crappier here in Cincinnati- stay safe on your travels here
What do you mean your not heading home!!! theres a little tri boy who needs your TLC!!!!
Enjoy the sun!
