Things I find myself thinking about at 5:30 in the morning while I wait for the rain to stop. If you find yourself lamenting about something a friend “did” to you remember to be grateful you have that friend and the lessons you may be learning from them. To those that complain about their “talentless students”, remember to be grateful you have students and the talents you possess that made you an attractive teaching option in the first place.

I end each blog post about gratitude not as a way to preach to to all of you but rather of a daily reminder to myself of all I have been blessed with.

A couple of great quotes for you this weekend.

I love this picture of my friend's 2 year old, being grateful for his playhouse on wheels (an RV they rented here in Florida).

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity…. It turns problems into gifts, failures into success, the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow. ~Melodie Beattie

“When we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that’s present….we experience heaven on earth.” Sarah Breathnach

“Life is not about waiting for the storms to pass…it’s about learning to dance in the rain!” -Vivian Greene

At times when our own light goes out, it is rekindled by a spark from another person.  Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us. Albert Schweitzer

Today I am grateful to all of those that rekindle my light; my husband, my friends, my family, my students, my dogs.

Have a great one everyone.
